It’s been glorious so far. The weather is warm and breezy and the sun is shining. We are getting lots of relaxation in, and it feels wonderful.
Before I left, I whipped up a quick batch of these Oreo Balls so that I could still have something to share with you, even though I’m away.
I chose this recipe because it is so quick and easy, and you only need 3 simple ingredients to make it! Also I feel like this site is a little light on candy recipe options (although I do have a great marshmallow recipe, an excellent how-to on making chocolate bark, and the most insanely good homemade moose munch recipe!)
But if you know someone who is a fan of cookies and cream, you have to make them these Oreo truffles! My oldest son LOVES them. They’re a perfect balance of deep, dark chocolate and creamy white chocolate, with a snappy candy coating and a soft, luscious filling.
Best Oreo Balls
Yum!! I love, love cake balls and have never made the Oreo version. Pinned
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Chill time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients
- 36 OREO cookies (1 package)
- 8 ounces baking chocolate (I prefer melting wafers)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then crush the oreos (with filling) in a blender or food processor.
- Mix together the oreo crumbs and cream cheese with a hand mixer. If it isn't coming together, get your hands in there and mix it up.
- Use a small cookie scoop to scoop out the dough. Then roll into a ball with your hands and place onto the pan.
- Freeze for 10-15 minutes or until slightly firm. You don't want them too cold.
- Melt the chocolate and stir until smooth. Then use a fork to dip the oreo balls into the chocolate. Tap on the edge of the bowl to get the smooth finish. Use a toothpick to help slide the ball onto the pan. Allow to harden.
- Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
