It’s one of my favorite toast combinations, so I decided to throw it in the blender (without the bread), and the flavors didn’t disappoint.

This recipe is fairly low in sugar and relies only on the sweetness of the strawberries and optional banana.

I like mine as is, but I’ve grown accustomed to lower sugar shakes.

For sweeter layers, try adding a handful of frozen cherries to the strawberry layer and extra fruit to the avocado layer, if desired!

Most of the time my Strawberry Avo Shakes don’t quite come out this beautifully, especially if I’m blending them after a sweat sesh and need to ASAP for the well being of those around me.

Feel free to take the one blender express shortcut indicated in the recipe to skip the layers but not the flavor!

Low-Sugar Strawberry Avocado Layer Shakes

Ingredients

  •     1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
  •     Half a small , ripe avocado, peeled and cored
  •     2 kiwis , peeled
  •     1 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks
  •     1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
  •     3/4 cup coconut milk beverage

Instructions

  1. Pour pineapple juice into a blender. Add in mangoes, kiwis and avocado. Blend until smooth. Divide smoothie among 3 - 4 glasses. Rinse blender.
  2. Add coconut milk and strawberries to blender and blend until smooth. Spoon strawberry smoothie over smoothie in glasses. Serve immediately.
